We had 5 stumps removed at my daughter’s house in Hudson. It was very professional and well done.

After professional stump grinding, you’re often left with a tidy pile of fresh wood chips, and the choice is yours: keep them on-site or let Carson handle hauling away wood chips for an additional fee. Many homeowners choose to keep the chips because they make excellent natural mulch for garden beds, pathways, and around trees. This helps suppress weeds, retain soil moisture and regulate temperature.
If you prefer us to haul them away, we responsibly recycle every load: the chips are processed into premium mulch for other landscaping jobs, donated to local farms and community gardens, or delivered to municipal composting facilities where they’re turned into nutrient-dense soil amendments. Either way, you get a clean, professional finish with zero hassle.
Eliminate unsightly stumps, remove tripping hazards, and free up valuable yard space so you can enjoy a safer, more beautiful lawn without the DIY hassle.
Remove stumps and roots cleanly below grade, preventing future cracking or heaving in new driveways, sidewalks, and slabs while saving you time on excavation.
Clear obstructive stumps from high-traffic areas, improve curb appeal for customers and tenants, and prevent costly liability issues while keeping your property looking professionally maintained.
Clear hazardous stumps from public parks and fields and rights of way, enhancing public safety, improving accessibility, and reducing long-term maintenance costs.
Complete landscaping projects faster and more efficiently by removing stumps that would otherwise block new plantings, patios, or turf installation, delivering smoother final results for your clients.
Restore smooth, playable surfaces across by removing stumps and roots that create uneven lies, trip hazards and obstacles for mowing equipment.
How we work
Chips raked out, ground level, no ruts across your lawn. Keep the chips as mulch or we haul them away — your call, agreed before we start.
Chips come off a grinder fast. When a stump sits close to the house, the siding or a play set, we stand plywood between the machine and whatever we are not willing to risk.
Deep enough to plant, lay sod or pour over. Not a shave off the top that leaves you with the same problem next spring.

About
Carson has lived in Iowa his entire life and has been a resident of the Cedar Valley for the past 15 years. He started Grounds Crew in 2025 due to a desire to work and spend more time outdoors while helping homeowners with projects they can't complete themselves. Carson's goal is to operate the business on principles of honesty, fair pricing and clear communication.
Every quote, every machine hour and every phone call is him. There is no crew to dispatch and no office between you and the person doing the work, which is why the number on this page reaches Carson rather than a queue.
